Hello :) This is a book I made in around 1986, based on The Fantastic Adventures of Unico :)
Unico is a manga and anime character by Osamu Tezuka. Unico is a baby unicorn with white fur, a pink mane, and little cinnamon bun-shaped ears, who was born with the very special gift of making all living creatures lighthearted and happy. - Wiki
In the mid-80s, The Disney Channel was still a premium channel that had to be subscribed to. My parents would only subscribe for a month or two out of the year, so I would wait for that sacred time of year when they would have the free preview weekends... and, like most other kids my age, that was when I found Unico.
At this time, I would draw ANYTHING. My parents had to bring me every scrap piece of paper from their work to satisfy my cravings, or else I would draw on whatever I could find, which would probably be something important [my dad's drivers license, for example :)].
A few years ago I found a folder of my old drawings in my attic. For some reason, I didn't go through it, and it ended up under my bed, where I just found it a few nights ago. My husband and I went through them, as I tried to explain what was probably happening in the pictures. Then I found a "book" I made of scenes from The Fantastic Adventures of Unico.
I don't remember drawing these pictures. I do, though, vividly remember making a book of pictures from the second Unico film, Unico in the Island of Magic, but I don't have it in my folder. Maybe I'll find it someday, hidden in another old box in the attic somewhere.
I would like to share my first book, "UNICO", with you, along with screencaps from the movie that the drawings are based on :)
